Portable Solar Car Stereo

Uploaded on May 15, 2010 Here's a (almost) completed portable solar car stereo. The entire unit is composed of solely car stereo parts, excluding the solar panels. The entire build time was approximately 30+ hours. I actually built this out of inspiration after I saw an "Ion Audio Block Rocker". I mainly use this during the summer, when I load it on a wagon and bring it on the beach. It attracts a lot of attention, trust me. Read below for all of the specs. I appreciate any and all feedback. Also, please check out my website if you're interested.... www.GreenTechNetwork.net Amp: CrunchPZT900.4. It runs at around 120 watts RMS on each of the four channels. $99 Sub: One Visionik 10 inch. Around 300W RMS If I remember correctly. $59. Speakers: Two 6x9 Kenwoods. About 95W RMS each. $49 for both. Battery: One 35 amp deep cycle lead acid battery. $85 Solar panels: One 20 watt panel. Two 5 watt panels. $65 + $30 = $95 Charge controller: One 7 amp SunForce controller. $20 Speaker enclosures: $45+$30=$75. Wiring, hinges, ect: Approximately $20 Total: $502 and 30+ hours.
