Cool DIY LED Bicycle Light

Uploaded by
This video shows how to make the cool bike light that I made when I was at Stanford's d school, where I learned about the product design process. For this laser cutting project, I sandblasted laser cut designs into acrylic blades.

The inspiration and conceptual design of this bike light came to me when I almost got a ticket for not having a light on my beach cruiser! Campus security was giving everyone a hard time for not having proper safety equipment. Being inspired by the style of the Cycle Chic movement in Copenhagen, I decided to design my own light.

Unfortunately, my bike and light were recently stolen. I entered a contest on Instructables.com to win a new laser cutter so that I can make another light and start my own bike light company. Be sure to check out Instructables and vote for me! And if you see my stolen bike anywhere in Oakland, please let me know!
